In February 1959, 9 experienced young Soviet trekkers disappeared into the Ural Mountains. The bodies were found separated into 3 groups several meters (and months) apart. Most had died from hypothermia, but some had died from unexplained physical trauma. What drove these experienced trekkers to walk away from their tent and straight to their deaths?
